Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Kidper collects minimal information necessary to provide the parental control service:

• App Selections: Your selections of learning apps and restricted apps (stored locally on your device using Apple's FamilyControls framework)
• Configuration Settings: Learning goal duration, reward duration, and focus mode preferences (stored locally on your device)
• Session State: Current session status (idle, locked, or unlocked) to maintain app state across launches (stored locally)
• No Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, device identifiers, or any personally identifiable information
• No Usage Analytics: We do not track which apps are used, how long they are used, or any content within apps

2. How We Use Your Information

• To apply app restrictions based on your selected learning and restricted apps
• To monitor learning app usage time (performed locally by Apple's DeviceActivityMonitor extension)
• To automatically unlock entertainment apps when learning goals are met
• To restore your settings when you reopen the app

3. Data Storage and Processing

• Local Storage Only: All settings and configuration data are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults with App Groups (for sharing between the main app and extensions)
• No Cloud Storage: We do not store any data on external servers or cloud services
• No Data Transmission: Kidper does not transmit any data over the network
• Apple's Screen Time API: App usage monitoring is performed by Apple's DeviceActivityMonitor extension, which runs locally on your device and does not share data with third parties
• User Control: You can delete all settings and reset the app at any time through the app's settings

4. Family Controls Permission

Kidper requires Family Controls permission to:

• Display the app picker for selecting learning and restricted apps
• Apply app restrictions using ManagedSettings
• Monitor app usage time using DeviceActivity

This permission is granted by the parent/guardian through iOS system settings. The permission can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings > Screen Time > Family Controls.

5. Biometric Authentication

Kidper uses Face ID or Touch ID to protect settings from unauthorized changes. Biometric data is:

• Processed entirely on your device by iOS
• Never stored or transmitted by Kidper
• Managed by Apple's LocalAuthentication framework

6. Third-Party Services

• Apple FamilyControls Framework: For app selection and restriction management
• Apple ManagedSettings Framework: For applying app shields/restrictions
• Apple DeviceActivity Framework: For monitoring app usage time
• Apple LocalAuthentication Framework: For biometric authentication

All of these are Apple's native iOS frameworks that operate locally on your device and do not transmit data to external servers.

7. Children's Privacy

We recognize that Kidper is used to manage children's device usage. We adhere to strict privacy standards:

• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children
• No data is shared with third-party advertisers or analytics services
• All monitoring and control functions operate entirely on the device
• Parents/guardians have full control over all settings and can disable the app at any time

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access & Delete: Access all your settings within the app and delete/reset them at any time
• Revoke Permissions: Revoke Family Controls permission in iOS Settings > Screen Time > Family Controls
• Disable Biometric Auth: Manage Face ID/Touch ID access in iOS Settings
• Uninstall: Remove Kidper at any time, which will also remove all locally stored data

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our features or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this policy. Continued use of Kidper after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
